I'm a fully trained, experienced counsellor. And I'm also a flawed fellow human. There is no judgement here.

I have ADHD (mixed type) and my family are a mixture of AuDHD, autistic and ADHD. You could say I've been learning about these topics from birth! I have built on my lived experience and my counselling training with specialist training in the field of neurodiversity, trauma and anxiety.

People tell me that as a counsellor I am kind, warm, intuitive and non-judgmental. And also sometimes funny! I am passionate about mental health and I am constantly learning new ways to support my clients.

I am also also an LGBTQIA+ ally with family experience of gender and sexuality differences.

Who do I work with?
I work with adults over 18. I specialise in:

  • Working with neuro-atypical clients (Autism, AuDHD and ADHD).

  • Issues of anxiety and stress (e.g., general anxiety, overthinking, phobias, panic attacks, OCD).

  • Trauma and abuse (childhood trauma or abuse, difficult past experiences, traumatic events).

I have come across a wide variety of issues as a counsellor for agencies and NHS clients and can support you in many other areas as well.

I encourage you to be you, unfiltered.  I offer an open, friendly space where I hope you can be free to be yourself and say whatever you need to in your own way.

About me

My story

Ok let’s get this one out of the way…

Nobody actually WANTS to see a counsellor.

So why go? Good question!

It is amazing how working with a professional can help you uncover unhelpful ways of thinking and feeling that may have been holding you back for years. Counselling can also help with trauma, either from childhood or more recent, that is interfering with how you feel in daily life and how you relate to others.

20 years ago I was struggling - ignoring issues related to my lifelong ADHD and issues with panic attacks and anxiety.

I thought I was too busy to go and see a counsellor, and was pretty sceptical about its benefits. I was carving out a career as an IT manager and I didn’t want to admit that underneath I was floundering emotionally and needed help.

But one day I got sick of just "coping", took the leap, and found a great counsellor. As I started to unload how I felt it made me feel better. A LOT better. As I talked, things started to become clearer.

Counselling helped me find my way back to myself, understand my low self-esteem and anxiety, and make sense of my neurodiversity in a way that gave me the tools and self-knowledge to make my relationship with myself and others flow more easily

I was bowled over. After a 15 year career in Internet Management, my passion for people and their potential prompted me to retrain as a counsellor myself. I wanted to help others change their lives too and nothing else seemed as important as that.

I love helping others experience the expansion of hope and possibility that comes from good counselling support.
