Benefits

Walking with a counsellor can offer many mental health benefits. Simply being in nature is good for our wellbeing, and the rhythm of walking side by side with a supportive professional can feel much more relaxed and natural for some people than being in a room face to face.

There is something about the way our bodies relax in green spaces that can help open the way for honest, helpful conversations and breakthroughs that spark change.

Location

I walk with women in the Godalming area within easy reach of Haslemere, Guildford, Cranleigh, Farnham, Aldershot and Chiddingfold.

Walk and Talk Counselling Q and A

Who do you walk with?
I offer walk and talk counselling for women who need a professional friendly ear to talk about what they are struggling with.

Who sets the pace?
You do! I will go as fast or as slow as you choose. I also have chairs in the car and we can simply sit in nature if you are feeling tired or are in need of a rest.

Where will we walk?
I have researched a number of walks surrounding my location in Godalming and we can choose one which fits in with you.

What if it is pouring down?
That’s up to you. If it is dangerously windy or wet, then we can reschedule or meet online as a backup, and I will provide you with a link for this eventuality.

However, if you don’t mind walking in rain then I am happy to go out in all weathers. And if it gets too much, we can always retreat to the car or find a sheltered spot.

What about other people on the walks?
For our safety, the walks I have chosen are a sweet spot between not too busy and not too remote. We will pass people, and we may pause in speaking to allow people to pass at times. In my experience, people are in their own world and not paying much attention to our conversation.

What if you or I see someone we know?
If I see a friend, I will say hi, that I am with a colleague and I will catch up later.
You may want to have a think about what you would say if you saw a friend on the walk too.

What about going to the loo?

I will make sure we walk in areas that have toilets not too far away.

How much does it cost?

I charge £60 per 50 minutes for a walk and talk counselling session.
