We all have times when we feel anxious about things in life. Things like preparing for an exam; delivering an important presentation, or waiting to get test results. All these are examples of average anxiety.

When anxiety and worry start to dominate your life, this is the time to consider whether you could benefit from therapeutic support.

How do I know if my anxiety is getting too much?

You may feel tired more often than usual, have disturbed sleep or find yourself overwhelmed.  You may find your thinking patterns revolving around your worries more and more and be wondering how to stop this.

Anxiety can also produce unpleasant side-effects of  tension, panic and fear. You may find yourself avoiding activities and people you once enjoyed because it "feels" safer.

All these signs are indicators that ordinary stress has tipped over into anxiety that is negatively affecting your choices and your enjoyment of life.

You’re not alone

If this sounds like your experience, then you may find it helpful to know that you are not alone; anxiety is one of the most common reasons that people seek therapy.

The good news is that anxiety is treatable. Many people suffer from it and many of these people reduce their anxiety significantly through counselling.

Working together

I will help you increase your self-awareness by looking at both the root causes of your anxious feelings and at what thoughts and actions are sustaining them. Awareness is the first step to gaining control over your anxiety and stopping it.

As part of our work together, I will support you with practical skills such as; managing panic attacks, strategies to reduce overthinking, and ways to respond to your anxiety in daily life.

You will learn to manage your anxiety so it stops inhibiting the joy in your life. You deserve to feel happier and have more energy to enjoy the things you love.
