As a counsellor with lived experience of ADHD I understand some of the issues that people with ADHD experience in their daily lives.

Drawing from my own experiences, I offer genuine understanding and empathy, creating an environment where you can be completely open and honest about your struggles and triumphs.

A Tailored Approach
Counselling is tailored to you and focuses on your knowledge, likes, dislikes, needs, wants, passions, and goals. I see each person that chooses to work with me as being the expert on themselves. I collaborate to explore what works or doesn't work based on your knowledge of yourself.

Navigating life’s challenges
People with ADHD are more likely to suffer from stress, anxiety disorders, clinical depression, and other conditions.

They have often experienced a childhood with more than their fair share of criticism. School and work can be places where people with ADHD struggle with inattention, motivation and other issues related to their differently wired brain. Relationships can suffer because of the difficulties they may have regulating their emotions. These issues can lead to frustration, stress and feelings of inadequacy.

We will work together to identify and address these challenges, fostering resilience, self-care and a deeper understanding of your own capabilities and self-worth. We will delve into understanding your nervous system, empowering you to recognize and attend to yourself before reaching overwhelm.

Addressing the emotional aspects of neurodiversity
Counselling can help you learn how to cope with ADHD and with the feelings that result from it. It can encourage you to think more positively about yourself, and build your feelings of self-worth. It can also help you identify and embrace the benefits of your divergent mind – such as creative thinking, energy, spontaneity.

Post-diagnosis exploration
Whether you're newly diagnosed or have lived with ADHD for years, counselling provides a space to explore the meaning of your diagnosis. It's an opportunity to navigate the mixed emotions that may arise, from relief to a sense of loss, and to sift through these feelings with support and guidance.
